Germany 2010

Germany vacation April 1st through 23rd 2010. The trip was extended by the icelandic volcano by a few days. We went to Oldenburg, Bad Zwischenahn, Hamburg, Laboe, Kiel, Lübeck, Munich, Walsrode, Bremerhaven and Groningen in the Netherlands.

Crew living and sleeping room (bow room)

Can 27 or more men have lived, ate and slept here? Yes! The torpedoes were pulled out daily to be serviced. On and below the floor boards were six reserve torpedoes, on which the submarine men lived.

Front Torpedo Room

The four torpedo tubes were loaded when the boat left the port. Overall eleven or twelve torpedoes were on board. The torpedoes were serviced daily. On top of it, most of the provisions were all over the room.
